Introduction to skewness and orientation

Documents can sometimes be scanned or photographed at an angle, which can make them difficult to read or work with. To address this, Artificio’s document processing system allows users to fix skewness and orientation before uploading.

Skewness refers to the document being tilted to one side.

Orientation refers to whether the document is in portrait or landscape mode.

Here's how it works:

Skewed documents:

  • Imagine you took a picture of a document at an angle. This can make the text appear slanted or off-kilter. By selecting the "fix skewness" checkbox, the system will automatically straighten the document, so the text is perfectly horizontal, just like it was scanned straight on.

Off-center documents:

  • Sometimes, you might capture a document that's not perfectly centered in the frame. The "fix orientation" checkbox can come in handy here. It will automatically adjust the document's position, so it's centered within the upload area, ensuring all the important parts are clearly visible.

In short, these checkboxes act like helpful assistants to make sure your documents look their best before you upload them. They'll take care of minor alignment issues so you can focus on the content itself.
