SAP AI Agent · Basis · SMQ1 · SMQ2 · EWM Configurable
Design scenario · how the agent is configured to work
Why it matters
When a queue entry fails, everything behind it waits. Finding the cause takes knowledge few people have, and a retry without fixing the cause fails again or posts twice.
How it works
The same four steps as every Artificio agent. The agent does the research and the paperwork; your teams make the decisions.
Inbound and outbound qRFC queues, including EWM-to-ERP and ERP-to-EWM.
Reads the error and the data behind the first failed entry.
Proposes the fix for the cause, then the reprocessing.
Reprocesses the queue after approval and checks the result.
Worked example
Goods issues from the warehouse stop reaching ERP. Here is what the agent finds before anyone opens SMQ2.
Batch 8842 was created in EWM at goods receipt but never reached ERP, because its own queue failed yesterday on a missing classification value.
| Check | Finding | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Batch 8842 in ERP | Not found | Exists in EWM only |
| Batch queue | Failed yesterday | Value missing for characteristic COLOR |
| Goods issue posted? | No | No material document for delivery 80041301 |
| Other entries | Same batch | All 12 waiting entries depend on batch 8842 |
| Proposed fix | Fix batch, then reprocess | Add the value, resend the batch, then reprocess the delivery queue |
The goods issue queue is reprocessed only after the batch exists in ERP and the duplicate check is repeated.

Inside the platform
The case shows who it is waiting for, what happens next, what the agent checked and exactly what each person is approving.
Waiting for L. Kim (Master data) to add the missing classification value for batch 8842, asked Mon 2 Nov at 07:24.
Once the batch is in ERP, the integration lead approves reprocessing. 12 deliveries are waiting.
| Step | Owner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnosis | Agent | Done |
| Batch classification | L. Kim · Master data | Waiting |
| Resend batch to ERP | Agent | On hold |
| Reprocess goods issues | Integration lead | On hold |
Batch 8842 of material RM-40021 is missing a value for characteristic COLOR, so it never reached ERP. Add the value from the supplier's certificate, NATURAL?

Capabilities
Every stuck queue gets the same investigation, day or night.
Ownership
You map queue types and causes to teams. Whoever answers first decides, and anything unassigned goes to the integration lead.
Owners, rules and tolerances are configured to your organization and agreed for each deployment.
Controlled autonomy
The agent proves itself on your real work before it writes anything to SAP. The platform measures how often your people agree with it, so you decide when to give it more room, case type by case type.
The agent proposes every action but writes nothing to SAP. Your people decide, and each answer counts toward the agreement rate.
The required owners approve. The agent acts in SAP only when the last approval lands.
For case types you explicitly configure and approve, such as reprocessing after a closed period is reopened, once duplicates are ruled out, the agent acts on its own and reports back.
Governed agent runtime
What makes this agent different is its configuration: its instructions, the tools it may use and the policies it works under. Reviewers, approvals, versions and audit work the same way for every agent you add.
Decisions go to named owners or authorized teams, with reminders, and every email links back to the case.
Gathering data is kept separate from changing SAP. Action tools are controlled and can require human approval before they run.
Versions can't be edited, and each case keeps the version it started with, so a change never alters work in progress.

What we measure
Every pilot tracks the same four measures from day one, so the business case comes from your data, not ours.
For SAP teams
The agent reads and writes data through supported SAP interfaces, without modifying standard SAP objects and without replacing your existing governance.
| qRFC queues | Inbound (SMQ2) and outbound (SMQ1) queues |
|---|---|
| EWM queue monitor | Warehouse queue entries and errors |
| Application logs | Error details for failed entries |
| Documents | Deliveries, material documents and batches |
| Reprocessing | Approved queue reprocessing only |
|---|---|
| Data fixes | By the owning team, with approval |
| Alerts | Diagnoses sent to the owning team |
| Responses | Every SAP response recorded on the case |
ScopeThe exact interfaces, objects and fields in scope are confirmed for your SAP release and deployment during technical discovery. S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is reviewed case by case, and some landscapes may need additional configuration.
Pilot approach
A focused pilot in your QA or sandbox system proves the agent on your own data before anything reaches production.
Review SAP edition, interfaces, authorizations and representative data.
Agree the queues in scope, the owners and the approval rules.
Watch real queues in shadow mode: the agent diagnoses, your team reprocesses.
Review the four measures, then add queues and approved automatic fixes.
Frequently asked questions
Security & compliance
ISO 27001:2013 certified, SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, GDPR and HIPAA ready. Every agent action is logged and auditable, and SAP credentials stay in the platform's integration accounts.
