SAP AI Agent · SD · PP · Availability Configurable
Design scenario · how the agent is configured to work
Why it matters
For make-to-order and assemble-to-order products, the real limit is often a component two levels down. Customer service confirms a date that looks fine, and the plant finds out it can't be met when the order reaches production.
How it works
The same four steps as every Artificio agent. The agent does the research and the paperwork; your teams make the decisions.
Picks up new or changed order lines for products in scope.
Explodes the BOM and checks each component.
Shows the component that limits the date and its supply.
Proposes a realistic date before the order is confirmed.
Worked example
A customer asks for 600 units in 11 days. The finished-goods check says 120 are available. Here is what the agent finds further down.
Only 180 housings are in stock for the 480 units still to build. The next 1,000 arrive on 18 Nov, so the remaining units can finish by 24 Nov.
| Option | Date | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Ship from stock | 120 EA · 13 Nov | Finished goods available now |
| Build with stock housings | 180 EA · 19 Nov | Housings on hand; 4 days to assemble |
| Build after PO arrives | 300 EA · 24 Nov | Housings due 18 Nov plus assembly |
| Full quantity together | 600 EA · 24 Nov | If the customer prefers one shipment |
| Expedite option | Ask supplier | Earlier housing delivery would pull in the date |
The date is confirmed only after customer service picks an option. The agent doesn't change production or purchasing plans.

Inside the platform
The case shows who it is waiting for, what happens next, what the agent checked and exactly what each person is approving.
Waiting for R. Diaz (Customer service) to choose a delivery plan, asked Mon 2 Nov at 11:24.
Once chosen, the confirmed dates are set on the order and the planner is told about the housing constraint.
| Step | Owner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Multilevel check | Agent | Done |
| Choose delivery plan | R. Diaz · Customer service | Waiting |
| Confirm dates in SAP | Agent | On hold |
| Notify planner | Agent | Scheduled |
Lakeside Pumps wants 600 EA of FG-3100 by 13 Nov. 120 can ship now; housing HS-220 limits the rest to 24 Nov. Confirm a split delivery, one shipment on 24 Nov, or ask purchasing to expedite?

Capabilities
Every order line in scope checked down the BOM, before the date is promised.
Ownership
You map customers, plants and product lines to owners. Whoever answers first decides, and anything unassigned goes to the supply chain manager.
Owners, rules and tolerances are configured to your organization and agreed for each deployment.
Controlled autonomy
The agent proves itself on your real work before it writes anything to SAP. The platform measures how often your people agree with it, so you decide when to give it more room, case type by case type.
The agent proposes every action but writes nothing to SAP. Your people decide, and each answer counts toward the agreement rate.
The required owners approve. The agent acts in SAP only when the last approval lands.
For case types you explicitly configure and approve, such as confirming dates on orders where every component is in stock, the agent acts on its own and reports back.
Governed agent runtime
What makes this agent different is its configuration: its instructions, the tools it may use and the policies it works under. Reviewers, approvals, versions and audit work the same way for every agent you add.
Decisions go to named owners or authorized teams, with reminders, and every email links back to the case.
Gathering data is kept separate from changing SAP. Action tools are controlled and can require human approval before they run.
Versions can't be edited, and each case keeps the version it started with, so a change never alters work in progress.

What we measure
Every pilot tracks the same four measures from day one, so the business case comes from your data, not ours.
For SAP teams
The agent reads and writes data through supported SAP interfaces, without modifying standard SAP objects and without replacing your existing governance.
| Sales orders | Lines, quantities and requested dates |
|---|---|
| Stock and supply | Stock, POs and production orders |
| Master data | BOMs, routings and lead times |
| Capacity | Key work centers, where included |
| Confirmed dates | Set after approval only |
|---|---|
| Planner alerts | Constraints sent to planners |
| Case notes | Reasoning and options |
| Responses | Every SAP response recorded on the case |
ScopeThe agent works alongside your existing ATP configuration and MRP data; it doesn't replace them. Products, plants and BOM levels in scope are agreed in discovery.
Pilot approach
A focused pilot in your QA or sandbox system proves the agent on your own data before anything reaches production.
Review SAP edition, interfaces, authorizations and representative data.
Agree the products, plants, BOM levels and approvers.
Check real order lines in shadow mode: the agent proposes, customer service confirms.
Review the four measures, then add product families and approved automatic confirmations.

Security & compliance
ISO 27001:2013 certified, SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, GDPR and HIPAA ready. Every agent action is logged and auditable, and SAP credentials stay in the platform's integration accounts.
