SAP AI Agent · FI-AR · Deductions · Disputes Configurable
Design scenario · how the agent is configured to work
Why it matters
Every short payment needs research across remittances, deliveries, promotions and customer portals. Small deductions get written off unchecked, and valid disputes miss the customer's deadline.
How it works
The same four steps as every Artificio agent. The agent does the research and the paperwork; your teams make the decisions.
Picks up short payments and residual items from cash application.
Classifies the deduction from the remittance and claim.
Checks the claim against what SAP and your documents show.
Prepares the dispute or the clearing entry for approval.
Worked example
A retailer pays $4,812 short, claiming 40 cases never arrived. Here is what the agent finds before AR opens the case.
The carrier's proof of delivery is signed for all 400 cases with no shortage or damage noted. The customer's dispute window closes on 20 Nov.
| Check | Finding | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shipped quantity | 400 cases | Goods issue posted for the full delivery |
| Proof of delivery | Signed, 400 cases | No exceptions noted by the receiver |
| Promotion or allowance | None open | No agreement covers this amount |
| Price | Matches order | Invoice price equals the agreed price |
| Proposed action | Dispute | Send POD and invoice; ask for repayment |
The dispute is sent only after the AR specialist approves the evidence and wording.

Inside the platform
The case shows who it is waiting for, what happens next, what the agent checked and exactly what each person is approving.
Waiting for J. Alvarez (AR specialist) to approve the dispute, asked Mon 2 Nov at 08:22.
Once approved, the dispute goes to the customer with the POD and invoice attached, and the case is tracked until paid.
| Step | Owner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Deduction researched | Agent | Done |
| Approve dispute | J. Alvarez · AR | Waiting |
| Send to customer | Agent | On hold |
| Track repayment | Agent | Scheduled |
Northline Retail deducted $4,812.00 for 40 short-shipped cases, but the POD is signed for all 400 cases. Send the dispute with the POD and invoice attached?

Capabilities
Every deduction is researched, whatever its size.
Ownership
You map reasons and customers to owners. Whoever answers first decides, and anything unassigned goes to the credit manager.
Owners, rules and tolerances are configured to your organization and agreed for each deployment.
Controlled autonomy
The agent proves itself on your real work before it writes anything to SAP. The platform measures how often your people agree with it, so you decide when to give it more room, case type by case type.
The agent proposes every action but writes nothing to SAP. Your people decide, and each answer counts toward the agreement rate.
The required owners approve. The agent acts in SAP only when the last approval lands.
For case types you explicitly configure and approve, such as clearing a deduction that exactly matches an approved promotion allowance, the agent acts on its own and reports back.
Governed agent runtime
What makes this agent different is its configuration: its instructions, the tools it may use and the policies it works under. Reviewers, approvals, versions and audit work the same way for every agent you add.
Decisions go to named owners or authorized teams, with reminders, and every email links back to the case.
Gathering data is kept separate from changing SAP. Action tools are controlled and can require human approval before they run.
Versions can't be edited, and each case keeps the version it started with, so a change never alters work in progress.

What we measure
Every pilot tracks the same four measures from day one, so the business case comes from your data, not ours.
For SAP teams
The agent reads and writes data through supported SAP interfaces, without modifying standard SAP objects and without replacing your existing governance.
| Remittances | Bank and customer remittance advice |
|---|---|
| Billing | Invoices, credit memos and prices |
| Deliveries | Goods issues and proof of delivery |
| Agreements | Promotions, rebates and allowances |
| Dispute cases | Created and updated with evidence |
|---|---|
| Clearing | Valid deductions cleared after approval |
| Customer messages | Disputes sent after approval |
| Responses | Every SAP response recorded on the case |
ScopeWhere you use SAP Dispute Management, the agent creates and updates dispute cases there; otherwise cases are tracked on the Artificio platform. Customer portals are agreed in discovery.
Pilot approach
A focused pilot in your QA or sandbox system proves the agent on your own data before anything reaches production.
Review SAP edition, interfaces, authorizations and representative data.
Agree the customers, reason codes, evidence sources and approvers.
Research real deductions in shadow mode: the agent proposes, AR decides.
Review the four measures, then add customers and approved automatic clearing.
