SAP AI Agent · FI · Treasury · Bank Configurable
Design scenario · how the agent is configured to work
Why it matters
Automatic matching clears most bank lines, but the rest wait in a post-processing queue. Treasury builds the cash position in spreadsheets, and the bank account doesn't reconcile until month-end.
How it works
The same four steps as every Artificio agent. The agent does the research and the paperwork; your teams make the decisions.
Reads electronic bank statements as they arrive.
Matches lines to SAP payments, receipts and charges.
Explains unmatched lines and proposes a posting.
Posts approved items and updates the cash position.
Worked example
The treasury analyst needs today's cash before the 10:00 funding call. Here is what the agent finds.
The payment covers three open invoices for Brightway Foods. The $820.00 difference equals the 2% discount on invoice 90051340, paid within terms.
| Group | Lines | Proposed posting |
|---|---|---|
| Matched automatically | 401 | Already cleared |
| Customer receipt with discount | 1 | Clear 3 invoices, post $820 cash discount |
| Bank fees | 9 | Post to bank charges |
| Payment run returned | 2 | Reopen supplier items; AP contacts supplier |
| Unknown payer | 5 | Treasury to identify |
Proposed postings wait for approval. Unknown payers stay on a clearing account until someone identifies them.

Inside the platform
The case shows who it is waiting for, what happens next, what the agent checked and exactly what each person is approving.
Waiting for P. Okafor (Treasury analyst) to approve 10 proposed postings, asked Mon 2 Nov at 06:25.
Once approved, the postings clear and the cash position is updated before the 10:00 funding call.
| Step | Owner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Match 418 lines | Agent | Done |
| Approve 10 postings | P. Okafor · Treasury | Waiting |
| Identify 5 payers | P. Okafor · Treasury | Waiting |
| Update cash position | Agent | On hold |
Brightway Foods paid $64,180.00 for invoices 90051301, 90051322 and 90051340. The $820.00 difference is the 2% discount on 90051340, paid within terms. Clear all three and post the discount?

Capabilities
Every bank line matched or explained, every day.
Ownership
You map accounts and line types to owners. Whoever answers first decides, and anything unassigned goes to the treasury manager.
Owners, rules and tolerances are configured to your organization and agreed for each deployment.
Controlled autonomy
The agent proves itself on your real work before it writes anything to SAP. The platform measures how often your people agree with it, so you decide when to give it more room, case type by case type.
The agent proposes every action but writes nothing to SAP. Your people decide, and each answer counts toward the agreement rate.
The required owners approve. The agent acts in SAP only when the last approval lands.
For case types you explicitly configure and approve, such as posting bank fees that match an agreed fee schedule, the agent acts on its own and reports back.
Governed agent runtime
What makes this agent different is its configuration: its instructions, the tools it may use and the policies it works under. Reviewers, approvals, versions and audit work the same way for every agent you add.
Decisions go to named owners or authorized teams, with reminders, and every email links back to the case.
Gathering data is kept separate from changing SAP. Action tools are controlled and can require human approval before they run.
Versions can't be edited, and each case keeps the version it started with, so a change never alters work in progress.

What we measure
Every pilot tracks the same four measures from day one, so the business case comes from your data, not ours.
For SAP teams
The agent reads and writes data through supported SAP interfaces, without modifying standard SAP objects and without replacing your existing governance.
| Bank statements | MT940, CAMT.053 and BAI2 |
|---|---|
| Payments | Payment runs and returns |
| Open items | Customer and supplier open items |
| Bank accounts | House banks and GL accounts |
| Clearing | Approved postings and clearing |
|---|---|
| Cash position | Daily report by account and company code |
| Handoffs | Short payments to AR, returns to AP |
| Responses | Every SAP response recorded on the case |
ScopeWorks on the electronic bank statements already imported into SAP, alongside your existing statement processing and post-processing. Bank formats and accounts in scope are agreed in discovery.
Pilot approach
A focused pilot in your QA or sandbox system proves the agent on your own data before anything reaches production.
Review SAP edition, interfaces, authorizations and representative data.
Agree the accounts, matching rules, posting rules and approvers.
Process real statements in shadow mode: the agent proposes, treasury posts.
Review the four measures, then add accounts and approved automatic postings.
