SAP AI Agent · ECC → S/4HANA · Data · Code Configurable

Get SAP ECC ready for S/4HANA with governed AI agents.

Prepare your ECC system for the move to S/4HANA. The agent finds duplicate, incomplete and obsolete master data, checks customer and vendor readiness for business partners, ranks custom code by real usage, and routes every cleanup to its data owner, so you don't migrate what nobody needs.

Why it matters

Migrating dirty data turns into a dirty S/4HANA.

Duplicates, incomplete records and unused custom code are cheaper to fix before the move. Found during test loads, they delay the project and eat the budget.

  • Data quality

Load errors in every test cycle

Incomplete and inconsistent records fail migration loads, cycle after cycle.Delayed cycles → Extra cost → Later go-live
  • Business partners

    Customers and vendors not ready

Customer and vendor records need cleaning before they can become business partners.Conversion errors → Rework → Delays
  • Custom code

    Migrating code nobody uses

Without usage data, every custom object is analysed and adapted, even unused ones.Wasted effort → Bigger scope → Higher cost

How it works

Read. Validate. Decide. Act.

The same four steps as every Artificio agent. The agent does the research and the paperwork; your teams make the decisions.

  1. 01 · Read

    Read ECC data

Master data, activity and the custom code inventory.

    • Materials, customers, vendors and finance data
    • Custom code usage over 12 months, where collected
  2. 02 · Validate

    Check readiness

Applies S/4HANA readiness checks to every record.

    • Duplicate, incomplete and obsolete records found
    • Business partner readiness checked per customer and vendor
  3. 03 · Decide

    Group and propose

Groups problems by owner and proposes cleanups.

    • Merge, complete, archive or retire, with evidence
    • Unused custom objects proposed for retirement
  4. 04 · Act

    Owner decides

Owners approve cleanups; progress is tracked for the project.

    • Approved fixes applied in ECC
    • Readiness tracked per object and wave

Worked example

Duplicate vendors, from readiness check to owner decision.

Before the first test load, the agent checks vendors for business partner readiness. Here is one batch it sends to the data owner.

Question for L. Kim

Block the inactive record in all 18 duplicate vendor pairs and exclude it from migration? None has had activity since 2019 or has open items.

  • If records are still used

    Kept and flagged

Records with recent activity or open items are never blocked; they're flagged for the owner to merge properly.
  • If code is rarely used

    Shown with its usage

Custom objects used only at year-end are shown with their usage dates, not proposed for retirement.
  • If owners disagree

    Sent to the project lead

Conflicting decisions between owners go to the migration project lead, with the evidence.

Capabilities

Migration readiness with governance built in.

Clean data and a smaller scope, decided by the people who own the data.

  • Check

    Master data readiness

Duplicate, incomplete and obsolete records across key objects.
  • Prepare

    Business partner readiness

Customer and vendor records checked before conversion.
  • Rank

    Custom code usage

Custom objects ranked by real use, where usage data is collected.
  • Route

Cleanups grouped by owner, with reminders.
  • Track

    Readiness by wave

Progress tracked per object and migration wave.
  • Audit

    Decision log

Every cleanup decision recorded for the project.

Ownership

Each cleanup goes to the team that owns the data.

You name an owner for each object. Whoever answers first decides, and anything unassigned goes to the migration project lead.

Controlled autonomy

Start with human oversight. Automate only when ready.

The agent proves itself on your real work before it writes anything to SAP. The platform measures how often your people agree with it, so you decide when to give it more room, case type by case type.

  1. Step 1Where every agent starts

    Shadow mode

The agent proposes every action but writes nothing to SAP. Your people decide, and each answer counts toward the agreement rate.

  2. Step 2

    Approve, then act

The required owners approve. The agent acts in SAP only when the last approval lands.

  3. Step 3

    Act by approved rule

For case types you explicitly configure and approve, such as excluding records already flagged for deletion with no activity or open items, the agent acts on its own and reports back.

  • Records with activity or open items are never blocked
  • SAP credentials never reach the agent or its instructions
  • Every value carries its source; approved values are locked

Governed agent runtime

Shared platform controls across every Artificio agent.

What makes this agent different is its configuration: its instructions, the tools it may use and the policies it works under. Reviewers, approvals, versions and audit work the same way for every agent you add.

What we measure

Results you can see in your own numbers.

Every pilot tracks the same four measures from day one, so the business case comes from your data, not ours.

  • Readiness score

Share of records ready, by object and wave.
  • Load errors avoided

    Problems fixed before test loads.
  • Scope reduced

Obsolete records and unused custom objects not migrated.
  • Decisions on time

Cleanup decisions made before data freeze.

For SAP teams

Integrates with SAP ECC and S/4HANA through standard interfaces.

The agent reads and writes data through supported SAP interfaces, without modifying standard SAP objects and without replacing your existing governance.

ScopeRuns against your SAP ECC system before and during the migration project. Custom code ranking needs usage data to be collected in ECC. The objects, checks and cleanups in scope are agreed with your migration project and system integrator.

Pilot approach

Start with one object before your next test load.

A focused pilot in your QA or sandbox system proves the agent on your own data before anything reaches production.

  1. Phase 1

    Connect

Review SAP edition, interfaces, authorizations and representative data.

  2. Phase 2

    Configure

Agree the objects, readiness rules and data owners.

  3. Phase 3

    Pilot

Run read-only checks and agree the top cleanups before the next load.

  4. Phase 4

    Expand

Review the four measures, then add objects and waves.

Frequently asked questions

Questions SAP teams ask.

Does it replace our migration tools?
No. It prepares the data and scope before your migration tools load it, alongside your system integrator and SAP's migration tools.
How does it rank custom code?
It uses usage statistics collected in ECC to show which custom objects are used, how often and when. Unused objects are proposed for retirement; rarely used ones are shown with their dates.
What is business partner readiness?
In S/4HANA, customers and vendors become business partners. The agent checks each record for the data the conversion needs, and for duplicates, before conversion.
Does it change data in ECC?
Only approved cleanups, such as blocking a duplicate. Merges, archiving and deletions follow your project's decisions.
When should we start?
Before your first test load. Problems fixed before test cycles cost far less than problems found during them.
Is the S/4HANA Migration Readiness Agent available today?
It is configured on request on the same governed platform as Artificio's available agents. We start by scoping your process and systems, then configure and test the agent in a pilot in your SAP QA or sandbox system before anything reaches production.
Does the S/4HANA Migration Readiness Agent write to SAP without approval?
Not by default. Every agent starts in shadow mode, where nothing is written to SAP. After that, the required owners approve before the agent acts. Automatic action is only possible for cases you explicitly configure and approve.
