Design scenario · how the agent is configured to work
Why it matters
Every failed backflush or goods movement lands in COGI. Items pile up for weeks, stock in SAP is wrong, orders can't close and month-end costs are off. Clearing them means investigating each error one by one.
How it works
The same four steps as every Artificio agent. The agent does the research and the paperwork; your teams make the decisions.
Reads open COGI items and groups them by cause.
Checks why each movement failed.
Sends the cause to its owner with the evidence.
Reprocesses once the cause is fixed.
Worked example
Before month-end, COGI holds 184 items. Here is what the agent finds for the biggest group.
The material is in the warehouse location but was never transferred to the production location, so every backflush from SL 0001 fails.
| Cause | Items | Proposed fix |
|---|---|---|
| Stock in wrong location | 96 | Transfer 2,880 EA to SL 0001, then reprocess |
| Batch not assigned | 41 | Assign batches from stock, by FIFO |
| Storage location not extended | 22 | Master data extends the material |
| Closed posting period | 15 | Reprocess in the open period after approval |
| Real shortage | 10 | Planner and buyer; no reprocess yet |
Items are reprocessed only after the cause is fixed and stock is confirmed available. Real shortages are never forced through.

Inside the platform
The case shows who it is waiting for, what happens next, what the agent checked and exactly what each person is approving.
Waiting for D. Kim (Warehouse) to transfer 2,880 EA of RM-40021 to storage location 0001, asked Mon 2 Nov at 06:20.
Once transferred, the inventory controller approves reprocessing of the 96 items. Other groups follow their owners.
| Step | Owner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Group 184 items | Agent | Done |
| Transfer stock to SL 0001 | D. Kim · Warehouse | Waiting |
| Approve reprocessing | Inventory controller | On hold |
| Recheck COGI | Agent | Scheduled |
96 backflushes of RM-40021 failed because storage location 0001 has no stock, while 0002 holds 4,200 EA. Transfer 2,880 EA to 0001 so they can be reprocessed?

Capabilities
Every failed movement gets a cause and an owner.
Ownership
You map causes and plants to owners. Whoever answers first decides, and anything unassigned goes to the inventory controller.
Owners, rules and tolerances are configured to your organization and agreed for each deployment.
Controlled autonomy
The agent proves itself on your real work before it writes anything to SAP. The platform measures how often your people agree with it, so you decide when to give it more room, case type by case type.
The agent proposes every action but writes nothing to SAP. Your people decide, and each answer counts toward the agreement rate.
The required owners approve. The agent acts in SAP only when the last approval lands.
For case types you explicitly configure and approve, such as reprocessing items after a transfer posts, where stock now covers them, the agent acts on its own and reports back.
Governed agent runtime
What makes this agent different is its configuration: its instructions, the tools it may use and the policies it works under. Reviewers, approvals, versions and audit work the same way for every agent you add.
Decisions go to named owners or authorized teams, with reminders, and every email links back to the case.
Gathering data is kept separate from changing SAP. Action tools are controlled and can require human approval before they run.
Versions can't be edited, and each case keeps the version it started with, so a change never alters work in progress.

What we measure
Every pilot tracks the same four measures from day one, so the business case comes from your data, not ours.
For SAP teams
The agent reads and writes data through supported SAP interfaces, without modifying standard SAP objects and without replacing your existing governance.
| COGI | Failed goods movements and errors |
|---|---|
| Stock | By storage location and batch |
| Orders | Confirmations and backflush |
| Master data | Storage locations and periods |
| Reprocessing | After the fix and approval |
|---|---|
| Owner requests | Fixes sent to owners |
| Reports | COGI by cause |
| Responses | Every SAP response recorded on the case |
ScopeThe exact interfaces, objects and fields in scope are confirmed for your SAP release and deployment during technical discovery. S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is reviewed case by case, and some landscapes may need additional configuration.
Pilot approach
A focused pilot in your QA or sandbox system proves the agent on your own data before anything reaches production.
Review SAP edition, interfaces, authorizations and representative data.
Agree the plant, causes, owners and approvers.
Work the real backlog in shadow mode: the agent explains, your team clears.
Review the four measures, then add plants and approved automatic reprocessing.
Frequently asked questions
Security & compliance
ISO 27001:2013 certified, SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, GDPR and HIPAA ready. Every agent action is logged and auditable, and SAP credentials stay in the platform's integration accounts.
