SAP AI Agent · PP · CO · Scrap Configurable
Design scenario · how the agent is configured to work
Why it matters
Scrap percentages are set once and rarely revisited. When actual scrap runs higher, MRP buys too little and costs come in over standard. When it runs lower, stock and costs are inflated.
How it works
The same four steps as every Artificio agent. The agent does the research and the paperwork; your teams make the decisions.
Collects actual scrap from production confirmations.
Compares actual scrap with planned scrap.
Shows where scrap is coming from.
Proposes new standards from history.
Worked example
The planner wants to know which scrap percentages are wrong. Here is what the agent finds for one product.
Most scrap comes from misfeeds at the press since the August tool change. The standard needs updating while production fixes the cause.
| Material | Change | Why |
|---|---|---|
| FG-2200 | Assembly scrap 2% → 5% | 90-day actual 6.4%; cause being fixed |
| SA-140 in BOM FG-3100 | Component scrap 1% → 3% | Actual 3.2% over 6 months |
| FG-1800 | Assembly scrap 4% → 2% | Actual 1.8% for 6 months |
| WC-PRESS2 | Process issue | Sent to production with the evidence |
| Review again | In 60 days | After the press fix |
Scrap percentages change only after the planner and cost controller approve. Process problems go to production, not just into the standard.

Inside the platform
The case shows who it is waiting for, what happens next, what the agent checked and exactly what each person is approving.
Waiting for L. Brooks (Planner) to approve 3 scrap changes, asked Mon 2 Nov at 05:30.
Once the planner and cost controller approve, the material master and BOM are updated, and production gets the press issue.
| Step | Owner | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Review 1,920 orders | Agent | Done |
| Approve 3 changes | L. Brooks · Planner | Waiting |
| Approve cost impact | Cost controller | On hold |
| Update SAP | Agent | On hold |
Change assembly scrap for FG-2200 from 2% to 5%? Actual scrap has been 6.4% for 90 days, mostly misfeeds at WC-PRESS2, which production is asked to fix.

Capabilities
Planned scrap kept close to what really happens.
Ownership
You map plants and product lines to owners. Whoever answers first decides, and anything unassigned goes to the plant controller.
Owners, rules and tolerances are configured to your organization and agreed for each deployment.
Controlled autonomy
The agent proves itself on your real work before it writes anything to SAP. The platform measures how often your people agree with it, so you decide when to give it more room, case type by case type.
The agent proposes every action but writes nothing to SAP. Your people decide, and each answer counts toward the agreement rate.
The required owners approve. The agent acts in SAP only when the last approval lands.
For case types you explicitly configure and approve, such as flagging every material whose actual scrap differs from plan by more than 2 points, the agent acts on its own and reports back.
Governed agent runtime
What makes this agent different is its configuration: its instructions, the tools it may use and the policies it works under. Reviewers, approvals, versions and audit work the same way for every agent you add.
Decisions go to named owners or authorized teams, with reminders, and every email links back to the case.
Gathering data is kept separate from changing SAP. Action tools are controlled and can require human approval before they run.
Versions can't be edited, and each case keeps the version it started with, so a change never alters work in progress.

What we measure
Every pilot tracks the same four measures from day one, so the business case comes from your data, not ours.
For SAP teams
The agent reads and writes data through supported SAP interfaces, without modifying standard SAP objects and without replacing your existing governance.
| Confirmations | Yield and scrap quantities |
|---|---|
| Material master | Assembly scrap |
| BOMs and routings | Component and operation scrap |
| Costs | Standard costs and variances |
| Material master | Assembly scrap after approval |
|---|---|
| BOMs | Component scrap after approval |
| Production alerts | Process issues with evidence |
| Responses | Every SAP response recorded on the case |
ScopeBOM changes follow your engineering change process where you use one. Products and plants in scope are agreed in discovery.
Pilot approach
A focused pilot in your QA or sandbox system proves the agent on your own data before anything reaches production.
Review SAP edition, interfaces, authorizations and representative data.
Agree the products, thresholds, owners and approvers.
Review one quarter in shadow mode: the agent proposes, your team updates.
Review the four measures, then add plants and monthly reviews.
Frequently asked questions
Security & compliance
ISO 27001:2013 certified, SOC 2 Type 2 compliant, GDPR and HIPAA ready. Every agent action is logged and auditable, and SAP credentials stay in the platform's integration accounts.
