    The route for classic ECC. Standard BAPIs create and change business objects with SAP's own validation and authorisation checks applied, so a posting either succeeds as SAP intends or fails cleanly.

  • IDocs

    For asynchronous and high-volume flows, and for landscapes already built around them. Artificio produces well-formed IDocs and reads status back, so failures surface where your team already looks for them.

SAP integration, answered

Does Artificio work with SAP ECC, or only S/4HANA?
Both. Artificio runs against existing SAP ECC installations as well as S/4HANA, using RFC-enabled BAPIs and IDocs where OData services are not available. No migration is required to start, and the integration does not need to be rebuilt if you migrate later.
Do we have to install anything inside our SAP system?
No. There is no ABAP add-on, no transport and no custom code in your SAP core. Artificio uses standard SAP interfaces, so there is nothing extra to review at a security assessment and nothing to re-test at an upgrade.
How does Artificio authenticate to SAP?
Through a service user that you create and whose authorisations you define. Artificio can perform exactly the actions you have granted and no others, and every posting is attributable to that user in SAP's own logs.
What happens when a document fails validation?
It is held as an exception rather than posted. Artificio validates extracted data against live SAP records before anything is written, so a mismatched vendor, an unknown material or a price outside tolerance stops the posting and routes the document to a person with the discrepancy already highlighted.
Can Artificio be deployed on-premise?
Yes. Artificio can run in the cloud, in a private cloud, or entirely on-premise within your own network. The SAP integration behaves identically in each case; only where the software runs changes.
Which SAP processes can be automated this way?
Any process driven by documents or forms that ends in an SAP transaction. The most common are accounts payable invoice posting, sales order creation from customer POs, material and vendor master creation, quality inspection results from supplier certificates, and production confirmations.
How long does an integration take to stand up?
A single process against a test system is typically a matter of weeks rather than months, because there is no development inside SAP to schedule. The work is configuring which fields map to which SAP objects and agreeing the validation rules and approval thresholds.
Does this replace our existing SAP workflow?
No. Artificio produces clean, validated transactions and hands them to SAP; whatever approval and release strategy you already run in SAP continues to apply. The intent is to remove the typing and the checking that happens before SAP sees the document, not to move your controls out of SAP.
